Predictions [Billboard 200]: P!nk’s ‘Trustfall’ Set To Be Her First Album to Miss #1 Since 2012

Published: Saturday 18th Feb 2023 by Rashad

With moderate buzz (compared to its predecessors), ‘Trustfall‘ – the ninth studio album from P!nk – charged to chart battle on February 17.

Lifted to digital shelves on the heels of previously released singles ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’ and its title track, the project – her first studio effort since 2019’s ‘Hurts 2B Human’ – boasts 13 songs and guest appearances from The Lumineers, First Aid Kit, and Chris Stapleton.

Yet, despite managing to see only one single impact the Hot 100 (‘Never’ has peaked at #99 so far), reports of Apple Music and iTunes domination suggested the set is pacing toward making quite the splash on the Billboard 200 its first week.

Thanks to that commercial activity, industry analysts have announced their prediction of how sales and streaming will likely spell out for the Pop diva by the end of the LP’s inaugural sales period.

See details inside.

P!nk’s ‘Trustfall’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  50,000-55,000 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut: #3-#5

According to HDD, P!nk’s ‘Trustfall’ will likely land in the Billboard 200’s top 5 thanks to first-week sales of approximately 55,000 units.

If the prediction rings true, the opus will mark the singer’s eighth consecutive top 10 placement on the tally (despite ending her #1s streak that’s been in place since ‘Truth About Love’ topped the hitlist in 2012).

Notably, ‘Trustfall’ is the Pop diva’s first studio effort to sell less than 100,000 units its first week – representing a 48% drop from the inaugural sales attached to its 2019 predecessor, ‘Hurts 2B Human.’

With major promotional appearances lined up for the next week (including ‘The Today Show,’ ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ and a show takeover special on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’), however, there’s still a chance P!nk can turn the tide on the ill-fated LP.

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for more on this story as it develops.

She’s considered a legacy act now. Not even the soccer moms are streaming. I know her tour will sell out though….

I dunno, I know pink says this is my get best album yet, and it does sound cohesive, theres something about it which just doesn’t gel for me. It doesn’t feel as instant or as warm as previous ones. The first single was weak, but the title track is great. I don’t particularly like the imagery and the rollout has felt rushed. I’m hoping Runaway is a single.

Well, although I haven’t and have no interest in checking this out, it did suddenly just occur to me that I still don’t have the only album of her’s that I like, Can’t Take Me Home, on vinyl, so I just went ahead and copped the gold pressing on Discogs before the price goes up significantly higher. Excited to receive it!

I like only 2 or 3 songs from Trustfall, but being the performer she is, I feel like I can’t miss the tour. Pink always gives 110% in her shows.

She wasn’t bad mouthing Xtina, she was telling the story of how they butted heads during the Lady Marmalade Era, calm down Xtina fans they are cool.😎 The reason her Album isn’t selling like it used to is simply because of age. The radio doesn’t play you’re music as much as they use to when get older. That Sucks because she still so talented, that’s when it’s all about touring.❤️

These are not bad numbers at all for someone who has been in the game for 23 years! Come on now

    • eric February 19, 2023

I agree, but I’m sure it’s a little disappointing when she believes this is her best album ever.

      • Kurtis February 21, 2023

Her best albums in order IMO
This new album isn’t her best at all…

        I’m not dead
        Can’t take me home
        Misunderstood
        The truth about love
        Funhouse
        Beautiful Trauma
        Try This
        Trustfall
        RoseAvenue
        Hurts 2B human

There are other great songs that should have been singles first. These are good numbers for her not to have a major hit.

The album came out 2 days ago as of this writing. So how can the article claim that it’s such a tragedy that it hasn’t even sold 100,000 units yet in it’s first week? It hasn’t even been a week! Pathetic journalism. This is not journalism.
